You're the Sun to Me

When I say You're the sun to me,
I don't mean the sun of mid summers
when we're warm and squinty-eyed.
I mean, you're the apricity
in winter mornings
when the world has been lifeless,
deprived of warmth all night.
And when I've been cold for so long,
that I don't remember how it feels to be warm.
Oh, how you walked into my life
reminding what's it like to feel the light.
So when I say "You're the sun to me",
I don't mean to sound clichè.
Just that before you
my skies were a little grey
